iQOO 9 launches with color-changing Phoenix Orange edition in India

Launched in India in February, iQOO’s iQOO 9 was available for purchase in two colour options: Legend or Alpha. As of right now, a third variant, named Phoenix Orange, is available in the nation. It is, however, the sixth color-changing smartphone in India after the Realme 9 Pro, the Realme 9 Pro+, and the vivo V23 5G after the Realme 9 Pro and the Realme 9 Pro+.

IQOO claims that when exposed to UV light, the Frosty AG Glass on the back of the Phoenix Orange iQOO 9 transforms into an orange colour. For a better understanding, have a look at the short video below.

The iQOO 9 Phoenix Orange offers the same specifications as the other two standard models, including the Snapdragon 888+ SoC, 6.56″ 120Hz FullHD+ AMOLED screen, Android 12-based FuntouchOS 12, in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 4,350 mAh battery with 120W charging.

The front-facing camera is a 16MP unit, while the rear-facing camera system includes a 48MP main (with gimbal OIS), 13MP telephoto, and 13MP ultrawide units.

Price for the 8GB/128GB variant is INR42,990 ($570/€520) and for the 12GB/256GB model is INR46,990 ($625/€570). The iQOO 9 Phoenix Orange is the same.
