An early look at the iPhone 14’s specifications reveals which models have larger and smaller batteries.
According to a purported iPhone 14 battery specs leak, the four expected forthcoming models will have some minor enhancements, as well as one shocking reduction.
In a screenshot from Weibo supplied by DuanRui and ShrimpApplePro, two Twitter leakers, are the battery capacity for the four forthcoming iPhones. It’s possible that we’ll hear different numbers in a future leak because both leakers are skeptical of the estimates.
For the sake of comparison, we’ve included these numbers in a table below with the capacities of the corresponding iPhone 13 variants.

According to these revised capabilities, the iPhone 14 has a 1% increase in capacity over the iPhone 13, a 3% increase in the iPhone 14 Pro, and a 1% drop in the iPhone 14 Pro Max over its predecessor. A straight comparison between the iPhone 14 Max and the iPhone 13 mini is impossible because of their vastly different sizes (6.7 inches vs. 5.4 inches).
Even though both phones have a 6.1-inch screen, the iPhone 14 has a somewhat larger battery than the iPhone 14 Pro, according to these specifications. When it came to the iPhone 13, the same thing happened, presumably in recognition of the larger camera block and an additional telephoto lens on the iPhone 13 Pro.
The new iPhone 14 Max model is expected to feature the highest battery capacity, but only by a little amount compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which has a slightly larger capacity. It’s possible that this model will have the longest battery life of the iPhone 14 variants because of this, but battery savings afforded by a ProMotion adaptive display refresh rate may mean the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the victor.
Because the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a battery capacity of 4,352 mAh, this suggests that the battery capacity of the iPhone 14 Pro Max will be reduced by 29 mAh. The fact that Apple is reducing the available battery capacity is strange, but it shouldn’t affect the phone’s standing as one of the best in our best phone battery life rankings. An adaptive refresh rate and a more efficient A16 processor (which the non-Pro models may not have) could further aid the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s longevity, which is still rather huge.
