According to Apple expert Mark Gurman, iOS 16 will look similar, but there will be a slew of new features behind the hood.

According to Gurman, Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June of 2022 will once again be focused on iOS. It was stated that “significant adjustments across the system” and “new ways of interacting” would be necessary, although he didn’t go into specifics on what this actually meant.

Our brains have been running since since Gurman stated “new Apple apps” in his response. Apple Classical, rumoured to be an orchestral-focused alternative to Apple Music, was discovered in the current iOS 15.5 beta, so that could be one of them.

Gurman’s statement, however, reveals that the overall aesthetic of iOS will not change. Although it’s not a total shock, the present iOS design has been around for a long time and it feels like it’s time for a fresh look. Particularly since Material You, the big overhaul introduced in Android 12 and continuing in Android 13, will be part of the operating system.

Gurman has previously made similar accusations concerning iOS 16. Apple’s long-rumored AR/VR headgear is expected to be supported by the upcoming iOS version, according to a previous newsletter from the company’s CEO.

Other leaks claim that iOS 16 will include other features. Both the Pixel 6 and an improved version of Google’s “large widget” design are on the table, as well as a crash detection system that will send an automatic notice to emergency services if it detects an accident.

The new iOS, macOS 13, watchOS 9, and other Apple products will most certainly be announced at WWDC, but regular people will have to wait until later to try them out. The iPhone 14 is scheduled to be released in September, which is when iOS 16 is slated to be released as a normal stable update.

If your iPhone is too old, you might not be able to use it. Users of the iPhone SE (2016) and iPhone 6S (2016) will be locked on iOS 15 for good until they upgrade their smartphones, according to a slew of reports. Fortunately, there are a wide variety of the best iPhones to pick from.
