There is a new look and feel for Android Auto

The Pixel 6a and Android 13 features were among the many big announcements made during Google’s I/O developer conference. Android Auto has also received some much-needed upgrades, including a new design and a slew of new functionality.

There have been rumours of an Android Auto design upgrade before, but there has never been an official announcement of when it will occur. In order to avoid having to go through your phone’s homescreen while driving, Android Auto has included a split-screen mode that lets you access the most often used features.

Always-on media and navigation are also included with split screen. Nobody wants to be late for their turn because they had to do something that Google Assistant didn’t fully understand.

What makes the new design even better than before is that it is able to adjust to every car’s display, no matter how big or little.

Speaking of Google Assistant, the upcoming update will bring Android Auto and Google Assistant closer together. Android Auto will be able to give contextual suggestions while you’re driving, so you can concentrate on the road ahead rather than Android Auto.

Retrieving missed calls, sharing arrival times, and recommending personalised music are just some of the things Google has mentioned as examples.

Android Auto has a slew of options for hands-free communication if you’d prefer not to use your voice while driving. Calling favourite contacts will be supported, as well as sending messages fast by selecting a suggested response.

For those of you who are fortunate enough to be driving a car with Google’s Android Automotive OS integrated in, you’ll be able to stream music a little more easily. Tubi TV and Epix Now will join YouTube as streaming options in your car, along with the option to access the web, although Netflix is still unavailable.

Video streaming apps can only be used when the automobile is stationary, for obvious safety concerns.

The new Android Auto design will be available “just in time for the summer,” according to Google. This means that it will come between now and the end of June, albeit a specific launch date has not been revealed.
