Season 2 of Russian Doll is now available on Netflix in a convenient flat circle of time.

After what seems like an eternity, Netflix’s Russian Doll (one of the greatest series on the service) is back. After all these years, a pandemic has taken hold since February 2019. Natasha Lyonne’s character, game developer Nadia (Nadia Bjorlin), finds herself repeating her 36th birthday party over and over again in season one. No matter what happens, the celebration will have to start again if Nadia dies.

In her quest to figure out what’s going on with her, Nadia meets Alan (Charlie Barnett), a guy who’s also caught in a time warp. They get together to discover how they’re linked and whether or not they can aid one another in escaping.

For the second season, the story takes place four years after Nadia and Alan left the time loop. One of Manhattan’s most famed landmarks turns out to be a time vortex that sets the team on an era-spanning, cross-generational adventure. They love it at first, but quickly realise it’s a worse destiny than eternal death. They must work together to find a way out.

When will the second season of Russian Doll be available on Netflix?

Netflix will begin streaming Russian Doll at 3 a.m. ET on Wednesday, April 20.

A teaser for Russian Doll season 2

The Russian Doll season 2 teaser promises Nadia and Alan’s upcoming time travel adventure. Apparently they’re heading back to 1982! However, don’t refer to Nadia as a time travelling. According to her, “term time prisoner” is her prefered option.

Second-season cast of Russian Dolls

Co-creator Natasha Lyonne, who plays programmer Nadia Vulvokov in Russian Doll season 2, is the show’s star.

On the guest list this time around is Charlie Barnett as Alan Zaveri, the guy imprisoned in a time loop.

Greta Lee, Rebecca Henderson, and Elizabeth Ashley, who played Maxine, Lizzy, and Ruth, respectively, return as well. They’re all close pals of Nadia’s.

Season 2 of Russian Doll will include many new cast members. Schitt’s Creek star Annie Murphy, who won an Emmy for her work as Alexis Rose, will join the cast in an unspecified capacity. Nadia’s mother, Lenora Vulvokov, is played by Chloe Sevigny. Additionally, Sharlto Copley, Carolyn Michelle Smith, Ephraim Sykes, and Malachi Nimmons have joined the cast as Chez, Agnes, Derek and Danny.
