If the pressure on Teams irritates you, there are several options. You can prevent Teams from automatically loading when you boot your machine. You have the option of removing the Chat icon from the Taskbar. If you really want to go all out, you can uninstall it.

STOP TEAMS FROM LOADING ON STARTUP

It’s incredibly simple to prevent Teams — or any other app you don’t need — from loading when your machine boots up. This not only speeds up the startup of your machine, but it also reserves memory on your PC for the things you really want to use.

• Open the Settings app. There are several methods: you can click on your Start icon and select Settings from the pinned menu; or right-click the Start icon and select Settings; or type “Windows + i” on the keyboard.
• Select Apps > Startup
• Scroll down to “Microsoft Teams” and toggle it off. (The app may say “Microsoft Teams (Preview)” instead.)

USING SETTINGS

• Select Apps from the left-hand menu
• Select “Apps & Features”
• Find the Microsoft Teams app, either by scrolling down or typing “Teams” into the search box. (It may say “Microsoft Teams (Preview).”)
• Click on the three dots to the right of the app’s name and select “Uninstall.” You’ll be told that the app will be uninstalled, so click “Uninstall” again.

HOW TO UNINSTALL MICROSOFT TEAMS

If you’re certain you won’t need to use the Microsoft Teams app anytime soon, you can remove it from your operating system. Keep in mind that removing the app will require you to re-download it from the Microsoft Store in order to use it.
