During this time, Netflix’s recent price increase for new customers will take effect in January 2022, and it will shortly be implemented for current subscribers. On January 14, 2022, Netflix announced its newest pricing rise. Existing Netflix customers may not have gotten the new price yet, as a Netflix spokeswoman told The Hollywood Reporter that the new pricing would be delivered to them “over the following weeks,” with notice of the new pricing being sent out 30 days in advance. In October of 2020, Netflix announced an increase of $1-2 above the price stated in January of that year.
Netflix tiers: what you receive for your money
Up to two simultaneous Full HD streaming are included in Netflix’s most popular Standard plan, which costs $15.49 per month (1080p). For two reasons, it’s perhaps the most popular strategy out there. To begin with, although 4K TVs and content are becoming more widely available, it isn’t happening as quickly as some may want. The Premium plan’s four simultaneous streams and 4K HDR resolution may not be necessary for everyone.

But given that most people can now see the difference between SD (480p) and Full HD (720p), it’s hardly surprising that the $9.99 Basic plan isn’t very popular (1080p).

The Verge’s research shows that the Premium Netflix tier was previously steady, but since 2017, it has received the greatest increases of $2 per bump, as you’ll see below. Most monthly price increases have been $1, with the exception of the $2 rise in 2019 and the $1.50 increase in 2022.

When you think about it, it makes logic. Netflix understands that its customers who pay the least are more likely to be sensitive to price hikes.
When it comes to Netflix price hikes, we’ve seen both little and vast gaps in time, and the most recent rise was one of the smallest, lasting only 15 months (the same gap between its 2017 and 2019 increases).
Netflix’s Future Costs
A Netflix price hike in the autumn of 2023 would be reasonable based on previous precedent. There is a chance that Netflix’s games may become more valuable to the company and they could charge more for them. But for the time being, it seems that Netflix prices will not be going up any time soon.
