There are three versions in the Honor 70 series, including the first number-series flagship since the 30 Pro+, the Honor 70. Aside from the difference in chipset, both the Honor 70 Pro and Pro+ are nearly identical, with the vanilla Honor 70 being the more cheap option.
There is a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU on board the Honor 70 Pro+, and a new sub-6GHz 5G modem on the Dimensity 9000, a flagship 4nm processor. The Pro+ offers up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage as upgrade options for the Pro.
With a refresh rate of 120Hz and a high-frequency dimming rate of 1,920Hz, the 6.78″ OLED display on the front uses a 10-bit panel. The “HDR Vivid” video format, created primarily by Huawei, may be displayed on it.
Using the new Sony IMX800 sensor, all three versions have a 1/1.49″ sensor with a 54MP resolution and 1.0m pixels. Behind an f/1.9 aperture in the main camera, it is utilised.
Macro photography is also possible with the help of a 50MP ultra wide-angle camera (2.5cm/1″ focus distance). The 8MP telephoto lens on the Pro and Pro+ variants has a 3x optical magnification (digital magnification up to 30x) with optical image stabilisation (OIS). And last but not least is a 100-degree field of vision 50MP punch hole camera on the front.
There’s a Vlog mode on the Honor 70 series cameras that employs artificial intelligence and the wide field of view to keep you and your subjects in the shot throughout the video. It is possible to capture video simultaneously with both the front and back cameras, with image stabilisation and AI beautifying applied, for both you and your subjects.
Pros now charge at 100W because to a new Honor charging technology. The 4,500mAh battery is charged to 60% in 15 minutes (up from 50% on the 60 Pro in the same period) and 100% in 30 minutes total with this method.
CNY 4,300 ($645/€600/50,000) is the pre-order price for the Honor 70 Pro+ with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in China today. For an additional CNY 4,600 ($690/€640/53,500), you can have the same storage plus 12GB of RAM. On the 16th of June, the first units will be made available.
Honor 70 Pro
The Honor 70 Pro and Pro+ share a large portion of their hardware. The display, cameras, and batteries are all same, which is critical. Price and chip set aren’t.
While the Dimensity 8000 in the standard Pro utilises the older Cortex-A78/A55 CPU cores, the new Mali-G610 MC6 GPU should come as no surprise to anyone (obviously, a mid-range GPU, unlike the G710).
It’s worth noting that there is a 512GB variant of this model. However, the base storage is 256GB. Here are the pricing, though.
There is 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in the 70 Pro, which starts at CNY 3,700 ($555/€515/43,000). The 12/256GB model costs CNY 4,000, while the 12/512GB variant costs CNY 4,400. Starting today, pre-orders in China will ship on June 10th, with the first devices arriving thereafter.
The Honor 70 Pro/Pro+ cases were created following a global design competition in which the company selected two winning designs.
