The Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, and 12X are the first three members of Xiaomi’s newest flagship family to hit the market. A speculated 12-Ultra and a 12-Lite variant are expected to follow in the future; the 12-Lite may even become official before the 12-Ultra does.

Although it’s a successor to last year’s Mi 11 Lite 5G and Mi 11 Lite 5G NE, the improvements over those devices aren’t expected to be substantial. Previous leaked images show a Xiaomi 12-like design and a curved screen (which the 2021 versions didn’t have), which is consistent with the previously leaked images.

According to a new leak today, the 6.55″ FHD+ AMOLED display will feature a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which is a significant improvement over the 11 Lite 5G NE’s 90 Hz refresh rate. As for the battery, it’s now 4,500 mAh, up from last year’s model’s 4,250 mAh with 33W fast charging capabilities.

For those who aren’t familiar with the Xiaomi 12Lite, it’s essentially the Xiaomi 11Lite 5G NE, with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor (6/8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage, 64MP primary camera with OIS, 8 MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro camera).

For the first time, the fingerprint sensor will be included within the display rather than being attached to the side of the phone. A 16-megapixel selfie camera on the 12 Lite is strangely down from the 20-megapixel unit on the 12 Lite. The Xiaomi 12 Lite is expected to operate on Android 12 with MIUI 13 on top, which isn’t a surprise.
