Hacks season 2 is on the road. There will be a new season of HBO’s popular comedy series in a few weeks, when veteran stand-up Deborah Vance and rising star Ava Daniels begin a cross-country tour. We’re expecting a lot more biting one-liners along the road.

An aged Deborah was trying to keep her long-running Las Vegas headline engagement at the start of Hacks season 1. She was matched with Ava, a millennial, by her agency as a way of reviving her career for a younger audience. Ava’s own career had taken a hit as a result of an offensive tweet she sent out, and she was eager to get things back on track.

The result was a titanic battle of generations, with the ladies exchanging insults and jabs. Ava’s admiration for Deborah grew as she studied Deborah’s previous work. Deborah, on the other hand, grudgingly accepted that she had been too sheltered for too long.

A new show for Deborah kicks off the second season with the ladies travelling the road for a workshop. Ava texted a drunken tirade slamming her employer to a production firm developing a tell-all programme, but the older lady doesn’t (yet) know about it.

What do we know about Hacks season 2 so far?

When can we expect the second season of Hackers?

The second season of Hacks will premiere on HBO Max on Thursday, May 12.

There are eight episodes in Season 2, which are scheduled to air over the course of a total of eight weeks.

The teaser trailer for the second season of Hacks has been released.

The first teaser trailer for Hacks is a complete mess. Preliminary footage shows Deborah hurling items at Ava while listening to Mama Cass’ “Make Your Own Kind of Music,” as well as the two ladies shopping, sailing, and garbage scavenging.

At one point, Deborah smugly said, “You’re welcome,” and they high-fived. Deborah, you’ll always be Deborah, so never change.

The second season cast of Hacks

Season 2’s leading ladies are Deborah Vance’s Jean Smart and Ava Daniels’ Hannah Einbinder. Deborah is a well-known and accomplished comic who is sometimes compared to Joan Rivers in terms of her style. When it comes to her comedic writing career, Ava’s had some hiccups along the way.

This time around, they’ll be joined by a few familiar faces.

  • Carl Clemons-Hopkins as Marcus, Deborah’s chief operating officer
  • Kaitlin Olson as as Deborah “DJ” Vance Jr., Deborah’s daughter
  • Jane Adams as Nina, Ava’s mother
  • Christopher McDonald as Marty Ghilain, CEO of the Palmetto Casino
  • Paul W. Downs as Jimmy LuSaque, Deborah and Ava’s manager
  • Mark Indelicato as Damien, Deborah’s personal assistant
  • Poppy Liu as Kiki, Deborah’s personal blackjack dealer
  • Rose Abdoo as Josefina, Deborah’s housekeeper
  • Meg Stalter as Kayla, Jimmy’s assistant
  • Johnny Sibilly as Wilson, a water maintenance worker and Marcus’ love interest
  • Angela E. Gibbs as Robin, Marcus’ mother
  • Luenell as Miss Loretta, Robin’s friend
  • Lorenza Izzo as Ruby, Ava’s ex-girlfriend

Hacks season 2 will include some recognisable personalities from the world of comedy, as well as a few newcomers. Margaret Cho, Susie Essman, Susie Essman and Devon Sawa will also present. We don’t know much about their personalities yet.
