One of the fastest-growing consumer electronics categories is smartwatches and fitness trackers. The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, as well as the Pixel 6a and Pixel 7 that will be released in the near future, are excellent candidates to serve as an accessory for the company’s Pixel smartphones.

The Pixel Watch might be released as early as this year.

According to leaker Jon Prosser, the Google Pixel Watch will be unveiled at Google I/O in May and go on sale in October, instead of the previously predicted May release date.

When it comes to Google I/O, which is mostly a developer conference, Prosser wrote, “From what I gather, Google will formally announce the Pixel 6a + “tease” the Pixel Watch.” Pixel Watch will be officially unveiled and released alongside the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro in October. “

According to another leaked report, the Pixel Watch might be released as soon as the spring of this year if Evan Blass’ wearOS 3.1 leak is accurate.

rumours about the Google Pixel Watch’s pricing

What is the price of the Google Pixel Wear? If we had to estimate, it wouldn’t cost as much as an Apple Watch. Despite the lack of Google Pixel Watch price leaks, we estimate it to be in the mid-priced range. Considering that the Apple Wearable Series 7 and Galaxy Watch 4 are priced at $399 and $249, we’d expect Google to lower the price of its own watch. Much as Google Pixel 6s are less expensive than both the Galaxy S22 and the iPhone 13, so is the Pixel 6 series.

Not the cheapest choice, however it might cost between $200 and $350 depending on the model and LTE variations available. According on what we know about Google’s price approach for its other hardware products, this is merely a hunch. However, according to rumours from insiders, the watch will be more expensive than a Fitbit.

The design of the Google Pixel Watches

A prototype of the Google Pixel Watch has purportedly been spotted in a restaurant, leaking the watch’s design in full. According to Android Central, two buttons can be seen on the right side of the device, which has a circular appearance and what seems to be a crown.

Pixel Watch is expected to feature a proprietary connection for wristbands, however this has not been verified yet. But it’s not clear what additional sensors there are.

In April, Jon Prosser tweeted a leaked image of what he believes is the Google Pixel Watch, showing off a rounded design with what looks to be a physical crown. This was our first actual look at the Pixel Watch’s design.

An official-looking Pixel Watch marketing picture set was just revealed by the leaker. The photos show a wearable with a spherical face and a bezel-less display that seems to bend around the smartwatch’s corners. One crown on the right side of the watch seems to be all that the timepiece will have in terms of physical controls.

As a result, the Pixel Watch seems to be a sleek and simple wristwatch, in line with the aesthetic of previous Pixel products.. Wearers will be able to personalise their devices with interchangeable bands.

According to 91Mobiles, the following picture may be the first official depiction of the Google Pixel Watch. These images reveal not just the curvature of the circular display, but also a Google Pixel 6-like user interface and Fitbit-related complexities.

Also, we’ve seen some fantastic concept art in the past. Designer James Tsai created the graphics you see here. Tsai drew inspiration from Google’s “Made by Google” products and created a collection of humorous representations with names like “milk white,” “sweet papaya,” and “boba black.”

Additionally, a Pixel Superfans virtual colouring book seems to allude to Google Pixel Watch colours. Think common colours in a pastel version, such as Just Black, Lemon Pop, Pale Yellow, and Dark Olive, while considering these.

In a separate leak, just three hues are named: black, grey, and gold instead of Google’s more creative colour names. It’s conceivable that there are further colours available that will not be offered by this firm, since this originated from a specific U.S. carrier.

What appears like skin-based touch controls for the Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds have been revealed in a Google patent filing.

Users’ skin might be turned into an expanded control surface for smartwatches and wireless earphones by using sensors embedded in their clothing. However, a patent application is just the beginning of this technology, and it is possible that it will never be used. It would, however, set the Pixel Watch apart from other smartwatches with such a mechanism.

The Google Pixel Watch features

Google is working on three Pixel Watch variants, codenamed Ling, Triton, and Sardine, according to WinFuture, a German tech website. According to Insider, the initiative is referred to as “Rohan” by Google employees.

To yet, no one knows for sure what these Pixel Watch codenames signify. Given the titles, it’s reasonable to assume that the devices will have a range of sizes and capabilities.

Using Fossil’s smartwatch technology, which it purchased last year for $40 million, one may be fashion-oriented. Google’s acquisition of Fitbit might help another become one of the greatest fitness monitors.

That said, a recent story from ET News claims that Google has placed a substantial order with Samsung for sensors that detect body movement. A well-specced Pixel Watch may be possible with the help of Qualcomm’s newest wristwatch processor with rumoured onboard storage and LTE connection.

Wear OS on Google’s Pixel Watch

Google will include its own Wear OS platform in the Pixel Watch, which is a no-brainer. Is there anything that can be done to make the programme better, or at least different?

Continuous heart rate monitoring, contactless purchases with Google Pay, hands-free Google Assistant access, and a Google Play smartwatch shop are among the most popular Wear OS features on third-party smartwatches like TicWatch and Fossil. Wear OS had faults in the past, but the newest, more improved version of Wear OS works well on the Galaxy Watch 4 despite its many features.

Until early 2022, when new Wear OS-compatible smartwatches are released and upgraded, we won’t be able to see what Wear OS looks like without Samsung’s own UI embedded into it.

However, according to Insider’s claim, basic capabilities like step tracking and heart rate monitoring will be included in the Pixel Watch. Fitbit integration with Wear OS is purportedly dubbed “Nightlight” after Google’s purchase of the wearable tech company.

Fitbit fitness tracking might be included into Google Pixel Watch watch faces, according to 9to5Google. A watch face in the Wear OS 3 video has a Fitbit logo with a running count of the number of steps climbed and the number of calories burnt.

For all intents and purposes, Google’s software is becoming better and better with time. Wear OS is a favourite of one of our writers, and he has some specific requests for Google about the Pixel Watch.

Apple Watch vs. Google Pixel Watch: What You Need to Know

In order to defeat the Apple Watch at its own game, Google will have to put in a lot of time and effort into the Google Pixel Watch. This would feature a fantastic Wear OS experience, which is simple to use and provides a vast range of useful applications to choose from. Google would also need to exploit Google Assistant and its benefits over Siri directly on your wrist while providing seamless connectivity with other Google services such as Gmail, Google Photos, and Google calendar.

A fitness tracker that can compete with the Apple Watch’s sensors and exercise tracking will need the Pixel Watch to expand on its recent purchase of Fitbit. Fitbit’s Active Zone Minutes and Daily Readiness Score are two of the best features.

Finally, the Pixel Watch must have a lower price point and a longer battery life than the Apple Watch in order to genuinely succeed.
