Google is working on a Tensor-powered Google Pixel tablet, which is expected to be released in 2023.

Those images were provided by Google at its Google I/O 2022 press event, which gave us an early look at the Pixel tablet. No details have been released regarding this new tablet, but it is expected to run Android 13 and be a companion to Google’s current Pixel portfolio, which includes the Pixel 6a and Google Watch, both of which were announced at the I/O event today.

Our ranking of the finest tablets currently on the market has been updated to include Google’s rumoured Pixel tablet, which we hope will live up to expectations.

Speculation about the price and release date of the Google Pixel tablet

Google Pixel tablet: Price and release date speculation

There is no guarantee that Google will launch their new tablet in 2023, but we may expect to see it at some point in 2024. The Pixel tablet is much more likely to be released in the spring or fall, when Google has usually delivered hardware.

Given that Google’s most recent tablet, the Pixel Slate, arrived in October of last year, fall looks especially likely. Google’s Pixel C tablet was released in December of 2015 as well. If the history is any guide, the next Google Pixel tablet is expected to be released in the second half of 2023.

Google Pixel tablet: Design

When it was announced at the Google I/O 2022 event, we got a glimpse of some promotional images for the tablet, and they appear to show a really drab-looking tablet.

We should expect a simple slate with rounded corners and thick bezels based on the teaser. We’ll have to wait and see how good the front and back-facing cameras are.

Bezels around the display are larger than we’d like, so fingers crossed that Google will reduce their size before the device ships.

As a Google tablet dubbed “Tangor” on the Universal Stylus Initiative (USI) website, the Google Pixel Tablet could also come with a stylus. Since the Pixel Tablet is the only tablet that Google is currently working on, it’s safe to assume that it will support input by stylus.

Accordingly, if this is actually the case, the Pixel Tablet could have a unique advantage over other tablets, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and latest iPads.

Detachable screens for Nest Hubs are another recurring rumour, though it’s possible they’ll appear on the Pixel Tablet as well. When docked, the tablet might serve as a smart screen and a charging station, according to Android’s code.

Google Pixel tablet: Android 13

Since the Android Pixel tablet is being developed by Android developers, Google has used it as an example of how it plans to improve Android’s tablet experience in the future during its 2022 I/O event.

Android 13 features, including several that are expected to shine on Google’s Pixel tablet, were part of a bigger campaign to promote the new capabilities.

A special focus on “big screen” Android devices, such as tablets, has prompted Google to commit to upgrading over 20 of its own apps (as opposed to “small screen” devices like phones). As a result, you’ll be able to see more information at a glance and always have quick access to a task bar running the length of the tablet. As expected, drag-and-drop capability will be available between apps.

Apps from other parties are also being adapted for tablets by Google. Zoom, TikTok, Facebook, and Canva are all included here. As a result, the Google Play Store will make it easier to find tablet-optimized applications.

Also, even though we haven’t learned everything about Android 13, we do know that it will have enhancements like virtual surround sound, custom third-party icon themes, Bluetooth Low Energy audio notifications, and improved battery management tools. Because of this, it’s probable that Android 13 will continue to make minor improvements to the overall experience of using Android on tablets.

Google Pixel tablet: Outlook

So yet, it’s impossible to make an opinion on the Google Pixel tablet, but what we’ve seen so far is undoubtedly intriguing.

A year after boasting about cutting back on tablet development following the apparently dismal Pixel Slate launch, it’s fascinating to watch Google don its aprons once again and try to make the ideal Android tablet.. Read more..

If you look at our list of the best Android tablets on the market, you’ll notice a large number of Samsung tablets, including both the fantastic Galaxy Tab S8 and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, which are all excellent devices. A new competitor to Samsung’s greatest tablets would be nice, but we’ll just have to wait and see if Google can pull it off with its new Pixel tablet.
