We now know exactly when and where Google I/O 2022 will be taking place. There will be a restricted number of people in attendance for the main event at the annual developer conference on May 11 and 12, which will be streamed online.

It’s customary to hear about the next version of Android during Google I/O, and this year will be no exception. It is possible that I/O will contain a thorough glimpse of the new features of Android 13 before the first beta is released.

How to watch Google I/O live on Google’s website

Google I/O is accessible to everyone since it is held online. The Google I/O event will be streamed live on the company’s own website, which has been put up just for it.

There will be keynote speeches and learning labs on the first day of I/O, while the second day will offer on-demand technical workshops. If you’re not a developer, the major keynote on Wednesday, May 11, at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, is likely to be the highlight of Google I/O. Following that, there will be a keynote address from one of our developers.

The whole Google I/O schedule is available on the I/O website.

Google I/O 2022: Pixel 6a, Pixel Watch, and Android 13.0

It is possible that in 2022, Google I/O may shift its emphasis from software to hardware. The reported Pixel 6a might be a reversion to Google’s past practise of releasing a lower-priced variant of its flagships (in this case the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro). We’ve put up a list of the features we’d like to see in the Pixel 6a.

Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO, hinted at the possibility of a Pixel-related announcement during this year’s I/O conference. As the Pixel 6a has just recently been approved by the FCC, its release seems to be near. If this is the case, then Google I/O is perfectly timed.

In addition to Wear OS announcements, we’re hoping to learn more about how the finest smartwatches for Android will be reimagined. Although the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is the only smartwatch currently on the market with the newest Wear OS version, Fossil devices are expected to get an update in the near future.”

Google I/O 2022 is when we’ll learn more about the product’s complete availability. We don’t know for sure. The recent flurry of Pixel Watch rumours, including as the device’s battery capacity, makes me hopeful for a teaser. Google I/O is just around the corner, and now is a good time to catch up on the most recent Pixel Watch rumours.

For Android 13, Google released a beta version in April (see how to instal Android 13 beta 1 on your Pixel phone here) ahead of its own developer conference. Even if we’ve already discovered some of the highlights of Android 13, including a speedier QR code scanner and the return of device controls to the lock screen, we can still anticipate a comprehensive breakdown of the new features. I/O will likely provide additional information about Android 13 in the near future.

Introducing Chrome OS at Google I/O 2022

Chrome OS is likely to see some significant changes as well. Some of the finest laptops for students and anybody who uses Google services might benefit from new Chromebook OS capabilities. At the very least, there should be some new Chrome OS-enhancing features in Android 13. We’ll have to wait and see.
