Assuming Samsung’s typical release timetable holds, the Galaxy Watch 5 is most likely to be released in August 2022. If you can’t wait until February 9 to witness Samsung’s new Galaxy S22 series unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked keynote, the company has a habit of holding a second major event in the summer.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 were unveiled in August 2021, along with the formal introduction of the Galaxy Watch 4.
This means the Galaxy Watch 5 may be released alongside Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 or another foldable device in the near future. In the weeks preceding a product launch, Samsung’s products are frequently leaked or teased. We should be able to get a better understanding of the release date of the Galaxy Watch 5 closer to its scheduled launch.
Prices for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 have not yet been announced.
According to rumours, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 will have a similar price to the Galaxy Watch 4. The 40mm Bluetooth model of the Galaxy Watch 4 costs $249.99, while the 40mm LTE model costs $299.99. The 42mm Bluetooth model of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic costs $349.99, while the 42mm LTE model costs $399.99.
It’s possible that prices will be more volatile if the Galaxy Watch 5 doesn’t arrive in two flavours. It may even bring back the $399 beginning price of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, which is the same as the Apple Watch 7’s.

There have been a few leaks about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, but we don’t yet know much about it.
Most recently, GalaxyClub claims to have uncovered three variations of the speculated Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, each with a different codename and model number.
According to reports, the SM-R90X, codenamed ‘Heart-S,’ is the most compact of the bunch. There are reports that it would be available in two sizes: 40mm and 42mm. This would make it the successor of the Galaxy Watch 4.
The ‘Heart-L,’ or SM-R91X, is the second model. As a successor for the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, this is expected to be available in 44mm and 46mm sizes.
There’s also a reported Pro model, which we’ll discuss in greater detail below.
In addition to the model and size, we’ve heard a few rumours concerning the sensors that the Galaxy Watch 5 could feature. Korea’s ET News reports that the Galaxy Watch 5 will include temperature sensor technology.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst, the Galaxy Watch 5 will not have temperature-sensing technology. Right.
In this case, who should we trust? For the time being, there’s no reason to put our faith in either one of them more than the other. In contrast to Kuo’s belief, the next model may not include the technology due to “algorithm restrictions.” With his claims about the Apple Watch 8 (which has also been speculated to have an in-built temperature sensor), he must know something about the matter.’ For the time being, we’ll just chalk this one up to a toss-up.
The titanium and sapphire glass architecture of the anticipated Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has earned the ‘pro’ designation. A Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro model is allegedly on the way, according to a fresh rumour circulating. The 572 mAh battery capacity of this device hasn’t been revealed, although it’s possible. Nearly 60 percent more battery capacity than in Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 (44mm), but it’s also the largest smartwatch battery we’ve ever heard of.
For diabetics, this large battery might be a game-changer because it would enable the purported wristwatch to measure blood glucose levels and provide a slew of other features.
It is also possible that this speculated Galaxy Watch 5 Pro would replace the Classic model in Samsung’s product lineup, as previously reported. Although it is not clear whether Samsung will continue to use the rotating bezel on the Pro.
But a recent report from GalaxyClub questions whether the Pro will completely replace the Classic in the next Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 line, and instead suggests that the Pro might be one of three different models. Codenames and model numbers for the Watch 5 have been discovered on that site, and there are three of them.
The Pro is reported to have the model number SM-R92X, although there is no mention of its size in this leak.
Features we’d want to see in the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5
The features of the new Galaxy Watch will determine whether or not it becomes the greatest smartwatch of the year. The following are some ideas we’d like to see become reality.
It would be wonderful if the next Galaxy Watch had a longer battery life. With the always-on display and frequent activity tracking, we found that the Galaxy Watch 4 lasted little over a day. With a battery life of up to six days and nine days, Fitbit Sense and Garmin Venu 2 Plus are the closest competitors.
We’d also like the FDA to approve a function that’s already in the Galaxy Watch lineup: blood pressure monitoring. If you live in the United States, you won’t be able to use Samsung’s smartwatch’s blood pressure monitoring feature.
Users of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4’s sleep coaching tools can improve their sleep quality over time with a recent software update. We’d like to see Samsung go a step further and offer recuperation solutions like the Oura Ring Generation 3 that prescribe rest days to users. Even Fitbit’s Daily Readiness Score might be incorporated into the Galaxy Watch 5.
We think the Galaxy Watch 5 should offer more colour options than just plain metallics, taking a page from the Apple Watch Series 7’s playbook. A neutral-colored wristwatch could be ideal for people who want to wear it with a variety of clothes. However, the Galaxy Watch 5’s design would be improved if it came in a more vibrant colour like red, blue, or green.
