People, get ready for the spoiler alert!
One of the latest Doctor Strange 2 TV spots is making the rounds on the internet, and it has a little element that seems like a significant cameo announcement. While several on the TG team were ecstatic, at least one of my coworkers is already complaining about this news, which is a shame.
If you want to avoid spoilers, then don’t read any further. We can hear Patrick Stewart remark, “We shall see what type of Doctor Strange you are,” as his chair moves in the TV footage, which seems to corroborate Professor X’s presence in the Illuminati-controlled structure.
The spoiler is about to begin! One of the What If…? characters seems to be in Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness in the YouTube video provided by swshriv.
Were you blinded by the bright lights? At 8 seconds in, freeze-frame and keep double-clicking to progress the clip ever so little. It’s there, isn’t it?
At the 9-second mark, you can see Captain Carter’s shield, which resembles Captain America’s shield but has the Union Jack inscribed on it. Just check it out. Sadly, the shield does not seem to be being held by Hayley Atwell, so we have no idea whether she will be returning. Any other person would be equivalent to WandaVision’s Fake Pietro.

However, there may be (at least) one more. We observed the Captain Carter shield soaring in the skies at the same time as a person who was shining from head to toe. “A Captain Marvel version that looks like LaShana Lynch’s Maria Rambeau” is what Total Film writer Molly Edwards has to say about this photo.
There is no reason to doubt it, but because Professor X is in the picture, the whole X-Men and Mutant casts seem to be in play.
There’s an Illuminati?
The Illuminati are the group of individuals Strange encounters (and seems to be on trial in front of) in a previous TV ad, which you can see here.
But hold on, there’s more. We observed someone soaring through the air, shining brightly, at the same time we saw the Captain Carter shield. As our sister site Total Film’s Molly Edwards points out, this seems to be “a Captain Marvel version” that resembles “Lashana Lynch’s Maria Rambeau.”
