Hailee Steinfeld stars in Apple TV+’s Dickinson, which has five intriguing and rare behind-the-scenes details revealed.
On Apple TV+, the new programme From Dickinson With Love offers five takeaways that the company shared through tweets.
Behind-the-scenes details regarding production and a surprising truth about Steinfeld’s character Emily Dickinson that formed a particular affinity between them are revealed. Star Jane Krakowski “was not alright recording her part with a mouse,” according to Apple, but she managed to get the job done by assuming that the mouse was a “showbiz mouse” that “might take a break at craft service or anything.” Apple claims that George Gould’s character, Samuel Farnsworth, covertly wore an Emily Dickinson necklace for all of his parts to reflect his love for the poet.

Costume designer Jennifer Moeller said that the outfits in Dickinson required 200 hours of work “Frequently, I’m asked where we get our clothing… Saks does not have a department dedicated to the 1860s, which makes me giggle. Everything is made here.”
Steinfeld reportedly told the director and asked him to play random songs the cast weren’t expecting for the dancing scenes in Pfaff’s bar in season three, and told the behind-the-scenes show “sure enough, there was a moment where all of us break out into what feels like we’re suddenly in a music video.”
Dickinson’s birthday is only one day away from Steinfeld’s (December 11 and December 10 respectively), establishing a particular connection between the two characters. There is “something about this specific individual which continues to astonish and intrigue me,” Steinfeld said in the documentary.
