Destiny 2 season 17 is launching soon, with Guardians expected to gain a fresh batch of prizes and a new season pass soon. Bungie has so far been tight lipped on what the next season of Destiny 2 will bring, with a reveal trailer still to be released. But we do know that the next big patch for the hit shooter, Destiny 2, will bring with it Season 17 of the game.
On Tuesday, May 24, we’ll be releasing the new version, 4.1.0. Some further server maintenance is also anticipated ahead of the release of this patch.
On Tuesday, May 24, at 9 a.m. PST, 12 p.m. EDT, and 5 p.m. UK, this will commence.
This is ahead of the Destiny 2 season 17 update being ready to download at 10am pacific time, 1pm eastern and 6pm UK time.
This Destiny 2 server maintenance is planned to be completed within an hour.
The upcoming Destiny 2 season, rumoured to be called Season of the Haunted, was hinted in the most recent This Week at Bungie article by the game’s creators.
According to Bungie: “A new season is just around the corner. We’ve already discussed a number of systemic changes that will be included in Destiny 2. It has been revealed that the sandbox, ritual reputation, and other aspects of gameplay will be changed. It seems like nearly everyone has inquired about the newest additions (and by nearly everyone, I mean nearly everyone). What is the Season of [Redacted] about, exactly? Next, what are our Guardians going to confront? The [Redacted] and their [Redacted] have been acting strangely lately. The trailer has yet to appear! Who is receiving the 3.0 treatment?
“Many of your questions will be answered in the future, but now is not that day. While it can be nerve-wracking, it’s also a lot of fun. One of the most powerful things in gaming is player discovery, as I’ve remarked before. Rather than revealing everything in advance via TWABs and tweets, should we keep things a little more under wraps with each Season so that players can dive right in and discover some exciting new features right from the get-go?”
According to Bungie, this TWAB message would be the developer’s final communication before Tuesday at 6pm UK time. Could be a clue that the season 17 reveal trailer will be shown when the new season pass update is released.
It’s a good thing Bungie has provided some details about Destiny 2 season 17.
Destiny 2 season 17 dungeon will arrive on May 27th, and there’s a teaser for it in there as well.
According to Bungie: “On Friday, May 27, at 10 a.m. PST, we’re unveiling a new dungeon. For normal difficulty, the recommended amount of power to enter is 1550. Master difficulty will be available on day one, but the entry requirements will be revealed in the game next week.”
The designers of Destiny 2 went on to say: “This dungeon and the one in Season 19 can only be obtained with the Digital Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen. Is that it? If so, you are ready to leave. There will be a 25% discount on the Deluxe Edition of Destiny 2 starting next Tuesday (precise timing and duration may vary depending on platform).
