A simple answer to today’s Heardle question may be challenging for those who aren’t in the right generation or who aren’t enjoying certain types of music. You’ll understand what I mean if you’ve ever played Heardle.

You’ve never tried this before? Rather than asking you to guess five-letter words, it asks you to identify a song from a 15-second overture, making it one of the greatest Wordle replacements and clones. There is no need to be a music aficionado in order to score well on Heardle’s playlist, which draws from the most popular songs streamed on many platforms.

Many Heardle players managed to correctly identify this song’s title in less than a second, despite its difficulty.

Heardle had me stumped this morning, but I believe the music might be The Supremes’ “Baby Love” (which opens in new tab). Heardle’s autofill choices didn’t include that music, but The Foundations’ Baby Now That I’ve Found You(opens in new tab) did. Since it was the only option, I decided to go ahead with it. Even though I had never heard of this artist before, it turned out to be the right one by chance.

At that point, I was already familiar with the 7-second melody, so I would have known the solution anyhow. Even if I don’t know the answer, it’s helped me think twice before pushing skip when I’m stuck on a question. A useful hint could be found by accident, even though the odds are slim.
