Season 5 of Cobra Kai is almost here, so get your karate on! Fans are eagerly anticipating what Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and their karate students will do after the conclusion of Season 4. Because filming on Cobra Kai season 5 has already wrapped up, they should only have to wait a short time.

Netflix’s Cobra Kai is a top show, and it’s one of the most watched on the service. The Karate Kid 2 follows Johnny and Daniel as adults 30 years after the events of the first film. When Johnny reopened his old Cobra Kai dojo to teach a new generation of students, they came to blows again. To Daniel’s response, Miyagi-do was restarted, resulting in an altercation between his students and those of Daniel’s.

In season 4, Johnny and Daniel put their differences aside to fight against Cobra Kai’s new rulers, John Kreese and Terry Silver. In exchange for Kreese and Silver’s departure from the Valley if Johnny and Daniel’s students triumph in the tournament, they made a deal.

Daniel made a surprising decision about the future of Miyagi-do after Cobra Kai won and Kreese was imprisoned.

Season 5 of Cobra Kai has been announced.

Release date rumours for Cobra Kai season 5

Netflix has yet to announce a release date for the fifth season of Cobra Kai. But we can make informed assumptions about when it will be available to stream.

Both seasons three and four were released on January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021, respectively. There is a possibility that this schedule may be followed by Season 5, which would mean a release date in late 2017.

Nonetheless, there’s a possibility it might come sooner. Cobra Kai season 5 wrapped up filming in December, according to co-creator Jon Hurwitz, who shared a picture on Twitter with the message “Five. Fin. #ByeAtlanta #CobraKai” (who has many credits on the show, including co-creator, co-executive producer and co-writer).

Season 4 had a seven-month turnaround from the completion of shooting to the date of release. Season 5 of Cobra might debut in July or August, just in time for the start of the new school year.

Cobra Kai’s fifth season cast rumours

Even though the cast of Cobra Kai season 5 hasn’t been officially announced, we can safely assume that the majority of the original cast will return.

To begin with, William Zabka as Johnny and Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRosse make it into that list.

Even though John Kreese may be in prison, the programme will very certainly bring back Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver and Martin Kove as John Kreese.

Also, Courtney Henggeler and Vanessa Rubio should also return as Amanda LaRusso (Daniel’s wife) and Carmen Diaz (Miguel’s mother).

Most of Cobra Kai’s pupils from the three dojos are expected to return for the fifth season, including:

  • Xolo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz
  • Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso, Daniel’s daughter
  • Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene, Johnny’s son
  • Griffin Santopietro as Anthony LaRusso, Daniel’s son
  • Peyton List as Tory Nichols
  • Jacob Bertrand as Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz
  • Gianni Decenzo as Demetri Alexopoulos
  • Dallas Dupree Young as Kenny Payne
  • Oona O’Brien as Devon Lee

Finally, Yuji Okumoto’s Chozen appeared in the finale as Daniel’s mentor at Miyagi-do.

Sean Kanan’s cameo as Mike Barnes from Karate Kid III might be a possibility when Terry takes over the Cobra Kai dojo.

There is anticipation that Hilary Swank, who played Julie Pierce in The Next Karate Kid, would reprise her role in the series, which has taken characters from three Karate Kid films.

When asked about it by Fandom, co-creator Jon Hurwitz was evasive.

“All we can say about her is we love Hilary Swank. Her performance in this series is one of the best we’ve ever seen, and we’re quite fond of her role, ” he remarked. When it comes to the Karate Kid, she’s one of the most crucial characters. It’s impossible to know whether she’ll come back, or how she’ll return if she does.

As far as we’re concerned, “we speak about her, and we may have met her, or worked with her, or never met her at all,” she says. We have nothing to say to you! If she doesn’t show up or the series ends, we’ll be happy to answer the question “every time!”

The storyline for the fifth season of Cobra Kai

Cobra Kai season 4 ended with a lot of unanswered questions. Daniel and Johnny’s agreement with John Kreese is the first to fall apart. In place of shutting down Miyagi-do, Chozen joins the fight. When it comes to Cobra Kai, Daniel may use more aggressive tactics in Season 5.

With regard to Terry Silver’s involvement in the enemy dojo, it was he who set up Kreese for arrest by claiming he beat up Stingray. Once again, he has full control of Cobra Kai and is ready for expansion in the Valley. Cobra Kai as the evil Empire, with Daniel and Johnny leading the Rebel Alliance, is the prevailing theme.

Terry, on the other hand, may lose two of his most promising students. After witnessing Kenny bullying Anthony LaRusso, Robby appears to be reconsidering his “no mercy” philosophy. As for Terry, Tory saw him bribing the match official. She may come to the conclusion that such unfair practises do not sit well with her.

Finally, we have Miguel. After withdrawing from the competition due to a strained muscle, the former champion vanished. On his way to Mexico, where his father — who is apparently a bad guy — awaits, he wrote to his mother and younger brother Johnny, informing them of his plans. Johnnie vows to track down and bring back his friend.

Is season 5 of Cobra Kai the last season?

Cobra Kai season 6 has not been ordered by Netflix yet, but it is safe to assume that it will.

And there are already more episodes in the works, thanks to the show’s creators. “We have more beyond Season 5. In Season 5, “we’re not writing until the conclusion of the series,” Josh Heald said.
