Apples, apple juice, and brown sugar are all used in this scratch-made apple crisp macchiato, which is the perfect autumnal pick-me-up.

Ingredients

Apple Crisp Syrup

  • 1 cup apple juice
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ cup chopped apple
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Brown Sugar Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup water

Iced Apple Crisp Macchiato

  • 1 ounce apple crisp syrup
  • 1 ounce brown sugar syrup
  • 1 cup 2% milk or other milk of your choice
  • 1 cup ice
  • 2 ounces espresso (2 shots) or strong brewed coffee

Instructions

Apple Crisp Syrup

  • When you’ve got a pot of apple juice and brown sugar and cinnamon sticks and nutmeg in your hands, you’ve got a delicious concoction.
  • Simmer on low for approximately 20 minutes after bringing to a boil.
  • Once it reaches room temperature, remove from the heat.
  • A glass jar should be used to store the syrup. Refrigerate. This recipe yields 8-10 servings.

Brown Sugar Simple Syrup

  • The water should be heated in the microwave for 30 seconds.
  • Stir in the brown sugar and mix well..
  • Glass container: Pour the brown sugar syrup in.
