Apples, apple juice, and brown sugar are all used in this scratch-made apple crisp macchiato, which is the perfect autumnal pick-me-up.
Ingredients
Apple Crisp Syrup
- 1 cup apple juice
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ cup chopped apple
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Brown Sugar Simple Syrup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup water
Iced Apple Crisp Macchiato
- 1 ounce apple crisp syrup
- 1 ounce brown sugar syrup
- 1 cup 2% milk or other milk of your choice
- 1 cup ice
- 2 ounces espresso (2 shots) or strong brewed coffee
Instructions
Apple Crisp Syrup
- When you’ve got a pot of apple juice and brown sugar and cinnamon sticks and nutmeg in your hands, you’ve got a delicious concoction.
- Simmer on low for approximately 20 minutes after bringing to a boil.
- Once it reaches room temperature, remove from the heat.
- A glass jar should be used to store the syrup. Refrigerate. This recipe yields 8-10 servings.
Brown Sugar Simple Syrup
- The water should be heated in the microwave for 30 seconds.
- Stir in the brown sugar and mix well..
- Glass container: Pour the brown sugar syrup in.
- Put it in the fridge. About 16 servings will be produced from this.
