Apple reconsiders BOE OLED screens for iPhone 14 series

OLED display panels for the new iPhone 14 series are expected to be supplied by China’s BOE earlier this year, reports claim. As early as May, there were rumblings that the BOE contract would be in jeopardy due to changes made to the display circuit architecture. If The Elec is correct, Apple is re-evaluating sample BOE displays and may proceed with a large-scale purchase.

According to those familiar with the situation, if Cupertino gives the go-ahead to BOE, the company would attempt to launch mass production of its highest-capacity displays between July and August. The iPhone 14 and 14 Max will use BOE OLED panels, while the iPhone 14 Pro series will use Samsung and LG panels, according to a fresh report.
