Digital ID applications for other states’ residents are being developed by states including Colorado, Delaware, Florida, and Louisiana. These states might cooperate with Apple to integrate their apps into the Wallet.
The first sites where ID cards in the Wallet app may be presented will be chosen TSA security checkpoints, followed by businesses and events in the future, according to a statement from Apple.
A driver’s licence or state ID cannot be stored in Wallet in iOS 15.4’s second beta, even though code-level preparations have been made. However, it is possible that the functionality might be activated by the time iOS 15.4 is released in March or April, given Apple’s early 2022 schedule.
