Apple mistakenly leaks its own dual-port 35W power adapter

According to a short support article released on Apple’s website, the firm plans to produce a USB-C wall charger with at least two connections in the near future.

Apple’s new 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter is mentioned in the support document as having “any port on the power adapter” where a USB-C cable may be plugged into. Adapter prongs may be extended, similar to Apple’s current wall plug design.

According to 9to5Mac, which originally discovered the document, the support article was promptly erased.

Multiple gadgets, such as iPhones and Apple Watch, may be charged at the same time using a 35W charger. It also said that USB-C Power Delivery is supported by the charger.

GaN-based power adapters are expected to be released by Apple in 2022, according to rumours. Classic silicon-based power adapters may be replaced with GaN technology, which is smaller, more power efficient, and less heat conductive than traditional silicon-based models.

GaN-based power adapters haven’t been listed in the support document, so it’s not obvious if they’ll be available. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst, predicted that the first Apple GaN-based charger in 2022 will be “around 30W” in March.
