According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has given corporate staff in the United States until April 11 to return to locations like Apple Park.
In the future, Apple plans to have a mix of in-office and at-home work schedules. According to the article, Apple workers will be obliged to work from the office at least once a week by April 11, twice a week by May 2, and three times a week by May 23. With most workers being able to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays, those three days would be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
The return to the workplace signals a long-anticipated milestone and a hopeful indicator that we may connect more completely with the colleagues who play such an essential part in our lives,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook in a note to staff acquired by Bloomberg. Other people may also find it upsetting.
Because of escalating COVID-19 instances, Apple had planned to bring back staff in February, but those plans were put on hold indefinitely. Apple is making another effort to bring in-person labour back now that the number of reported incidents has dropped in the United States.
The epidemic has mostly forced Apple’s corporate staff to operate from home. Despite the objections of some workers, Apple leadership have made it plain that staff must return to the workplace once it is safe to do so.
After a year of working without many of the company’s workers, Cook said in a note to the staff in June of 2021, “the fact is that there has been something fundamental missing from this last year: each other.” Even if video conference calls have reduced our distance, there are still things that it cannot replace.
This announcement comes only a few days after Google said that its staff will be forced back into their offices on April 4. Source
