Apple Completed External Display Development ‘Months Ago,’ Could Launch Tuesday at ‘Peek Performance’

In his monthly Power On email, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman revealed that Apple has been working on an external display for “months,” which will be released soon after the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros.

Two external displays are said to be under development by Apple, one a direct successor to the Pro Display XDR and the other a more cheap display for consumers. He claims that Apple finished developing its next-generation external display “months ago” and plans to release it in October 2021, only a few months after the introduction of its newest MacBook Pros.

As planned on Tuesday, Apple is likely to unveil a new high-end Mac mini, and the debut of a new inexpensive external display seems sensible. About half the price of Pro Display XDR, the display could be purchased for roughly $2,500.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple is working on a display that has a 7K resolution and an A13 processor integrated in. However, this display seems to be distinct from the more cheap model that the business has been developing.

Additionally, Apple is likely to unveil a new Mac mini, an upgraded 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 Apple silicon processor, a new iPhone SE or iPad Air running 5G, and a “wildcard” product reveal. Source
