My most anticipated Apple product this year was the MacBook Air 2022, if you had asked me a few months ago what rumoured product I was most excited about. After switching from Android, I’ve grown quite fond of the iPhone 13 Pro and may have even said the iPhone 14 Pro. This has just been altered.
The AirPods Pro 2 are the gadget I’m most excited about right now. The fact that we’ve been waiting for them at the last two Apple events and that the folks in Cupertino seem to have forgotten about the AirPods Pro 2 is something of a joke at Tom’s Guide. Rumors have it that the game will be released on September 13.
And I think the AirPods Pro 2 are the most exciting new product from Apple this year. Although the Mac Studio is an impressive piece of technology, it’s best suited for artists and designers rather than wordsmiths. Although a redesign of the MacBook Air 2022 has been tipped, I believe it will be more of an evolution than a revolution in the ultraportable laptop space. And the iPhone 14 range is expected to be excellent, but my enthusiasm for iPhones has waned quite a bit because they are now so iterative.
AirPods Pro 2 is tipped for major changes
As a result, Apple is rumoured to be making major changes with the AirPods Pro 2. The AirPods Pro 2 is expected to be redesigned with a bullet-like bud design and no protruding microphone stalks, according to rumours. I’m curious to see what Apple can come up with to overcome the alleged lack of stalks in order to maintain hands-free call quality.
It’s possible that USB-C charging is also in the works, which is great news for people like me who have to deal with the different ecosystems of iOS, Android, and Windows.
However, the AirPods Pro 2’s inner workings are what have me the most giddy. In light of recent increases in the trustworthiness of LeaksApplePro, an Apple tech tipster, the AirPods Pro 2 may be “the biggest innovation in wireless earbuds since the original AirPods were introduced in 2016,” according to their sources. Because of the new codec and noise-canceling technology, “lossless” audio will be supported.
Lossless audio goes wireless
As a result of compression that preserves the original data when compressing audio, lossless audio playback could result in a significant improvement in audio quality. Apple’s AAC Bluetooth Codec, which is found in all AirPods, does not support lossless audio over Bluetooth. However, if Apple can overcome this, Bluetooth earbuds could benefit from lossless audio.
The sound quality of the AirPods Pro has blown me away since I recently acquired a pair in my hands (ears). A new codec could be the key to improving the quality of the video, but there is room for improvement.
Whenever Apple focuses on audio products, the results are often some of the most impressive on the market. Even though the AirPods Max are a bit pricey, the sound quality is unquestionably top-notch. When it comes to smart speakers, Apple’s HomePod and HomePod mini are hard to beat. When it comes to laptop audio, there’s no better option than MacBooks’ speakers. If Apple can make the AirPods Pro 2 even more compact, I’ll be eager to see what new sound features they can add.
A new noise cancelling standard?
There is also the tantalising prospect of significantly improved noise cancellation in the works. The AirPods Pro’s noise isolation isn’t as good as some of the best wireless earbuds. Because of this, I’ll be overjoyed if Apple can significantly improve this, either by introducing new hardware, software, or a combination of the two.
It’s possible that Apple will set a standard for ANC technology in wireless headphones by incorporating it, and that will lead to better sound quality in all headphones and earbuds in the future.
Other rumored AirPods Pro 2 upgrades
Other rumours suggest that the AirPods Pro 2 will include smart wellness-tracking technology, such as sensors that monitor physical activity. Wouldn’t it be cool if Apple Watches didn’t have to be worn? Wireless audio, on the other hand, has my attention because of the new possibilities it offers.
My enthusiasm and excitement are, of course, based on conjecture, as Apple has remained steadfastly mum about its future products. The latest AirPods Pro 2 rumours intrigue me, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Apple will unveil a pair of wireless earbuds this fall that could be the real show stopper.
