There have been speculations regarding the MacBook Pro 2022 for some time now, so we have an idea of what to anticipate from that model. In his Power On email, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims several good adjustments will be coming, but one major enhancement is apparently omitted.
ProMotion or mini-LED displays aren’t expected to be included in the 2022 MacBook Pro, according to Gurman’s predictions. Brighter panels and customizable refresh rates up to 120Hz are available on the MacBook Pro 14-inch and MacBook Pro 16-inch versions.
According to Gurman, the TouchBar may be dropped from the 2022 model. The function was withdrawn from the Macbook Pro update last year because it was unpopular, and its removal from the entry-level model would effectively put an end to it.
MagSafe charging, HDMI and SD card ports—all of which were retired from last year’s models—could be included in the 2022 MacBook Pro, according to Gurman. The notched display is likely to make a comeback on the new entry-level MacBook Pro as well.
According to Gurman, the M2 chip, which is said to be the actual M1 replacement, will be used in just four Macs, including this one. New Mac Mini, redesigned 24-inch iMac and 2022 MacBook Air expected to be the other models.
Another reported model is a 27-inch iMac Pro, although because of its size, it may be better suited to the performance-focused M1 Pro or M1 Max CPUs. This has already been circulating around the gossip.
Gurman didn’t say when the next MacBook Pro will be released. Apple is expected to have an event as early as March, according to rumours. However, according to current reports, the iPhone SE 3, iPad Air 5, and potentially a new iPad Pro will all be unveiled at this event.
Due to reports that it would use CPUs that Apple has previously revealed, the iMac Pro might be a competitor as well. For M2-powered devices, it’s probably best to wait until the second half of 2013.
Apple MacBook Pro 2022 may be entry-level

For the upcoming entry-level MacBook Pro, “I’d anticipate it to follow the high-end MacBook Pros by deleting the Touch Bar, but important differentiators will be a lack of ProMotion or miniLED,” Gurman said in his newsletter.
